Firefighters rescue 15 trapped on Ferris wheel

Minutes after getting a call from the National Emergency Service (NES) number 999, the fire service members rescued 15 people who were trapped in Ferris wheel at River View Cafe and Park near Khulna’s Khan Jahan Ali Bridge.

On Sunday, confirming the matter, NES 999’ media and public relations Officer Police Inspector Anwar Sattar said that a person named Rajib called NES 999 and informed that Ferris wheel popularly known as Nagordola stopped breaking some spare parts.

That person also informed them that 15 to 20 women and children were stuck there on 40 to 50 feet high. They are crying with fear and panic, he said.

This officer also said that on receiving the news, a team from Tutpara Fire Service Station went to the spot and rescued 15 people including 10 children, 3 women and 2 men with the help of turn table hydraulic ladder.
