The first hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia in the early hours of Sunday.

The national flag carrier's aircraft 'BG-3001' departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 3:20am and it was scheduled to land in Jeddah at 7:20am (local time).

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday inaugurated the Hajj Activities-2023 (1444 Hijri) at the Hajji Office in the capital's Ashkona area.
