The naval police on Thursday recovered the bodies of four crew members who went missing after the fishing vessel FV Magferath sank in the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram.

Two of the deceased were identified as the captain of the vessel Faruq Bin Abdullah and a dock worker Rahmat Mia. The others’ identities are yet to be ascertained.

Confirming the matter, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadarghat Naval police station Md Ekram Ullah said the bodies were recovered after conducting a rescue operation from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.

Seven people went missing as the vessel lost control, collided with a buoy and sank while trying to dock for maintenance Tuesday night. Three of the crew still remain missing.
