At least five people were killed and eight injured when a truck, ambulance and an easy bike collided head-on in Rangpur-Dinajpur road near Nengtichera Bridge at Kursha union on Monday.
Only Four of the five deceased could be identified - Sohiruddin, 40, Khademul Islam, 38, Azanur Rhaman, 45, and Habibullah, 45. The identity of another could not be known immediately.
“The accident took place around 6.30 pm. All the injured were taken to the Taragonj upazilla health complex. Of the five deceased, one succumbed to death on the way to the hospital," Taragonj Highway police post-Sub-Inspector Rafiq Hossain confirmed.
According to the police and locals, an easy bike from Taragonj heading for Syedpur collided head-on with a Rangpur-bound truck and ambulance coming from the opposite direction.
