Flight operations have resumed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Tuesday morning, after being suspended for 6 hours on Monday afternoon.

HSIA Executive Director Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam confirmed that flight operations have returned to normal, adding that flights resumed last night, but some flights were cancelled.

Airport officials said due to the ongoing situation in the country, all types of aircraft movement at the airport were suspended to ensure that no Awami League leaders, workers, lawmakers, and ministers can escape abroad.

They added that the decision was taken by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) after an emergency meeting with all stakeholders at the airport.
