Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Freedom fighter Farooq-e-Azam today said flood-affected people will be rehabilitated.

"Many people of Noakhali have been affected by the flood... Flood victims will be rehabilitated," he said. The adviser said this while addressing a discussion on 'Dealing with the flood situation and coordination of relief activities' held at Noakhali Circuit House last night as the chief guest.

"Bangladesh is a potential country and it will move forward with the unison of its young force. They showed us the way by uniting the entire nation while the country faced one of the most terrible floods in its recent history. It's not just the young force but also the other institutions and voluntary organisations that have come forward to help the flood victims across the
country," he added.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Dewan Mahbubur Rahman presided over the discussion meeting.

Major Rifat Anwar, Civil Surgeon Dr Masum Iftekhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sharmin Ara, Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Bijaya Sen and students of the anti-discrimination student movement, among others, were present on the occasion.
