Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen Monday urged all to play a part in building a better world for children with all the facilities and enjoyment they deserve.

He reminded all about the responsibility that everyone has in building a better world for the country's young boys and girls.

"We want to build a beautiful future for the children," said the foreign minister while speaking at a discussion on Sheikh Russel Day at the Foreign Service Academy (FSA).
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and curator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum NI Khan also spoke.

The foreign minister said they do not want to see any innocent child face brutality. "We want to make sure that our children enjoy the quality life and care what the children get in the developed countries."

Later, the minister, state minister and the foreign secretary handed over certificates and crests to the winners of a chess tournament.

On October 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Chess Federation, organised the daylong Sheikh Russel Memorial Rapid Chess Tournament 2021 at the Foreign Service Academy.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh missions observed Sheikh Russel Day 2021 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Special prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, Bangabandhu and his martyred family members – who were brutally assassinated on 15 August 1975 – as well as for the socio-economic development of the country.
