Blaming the Russia-Ukraine conflict for the rising commodity prices, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the ongoing food price hike is likely to continue.
“Commodity price has been increasing due to the conflict. Russian-Ukraine is a food bank. Anyone who thinks food prices will not go up, he or she is living in a fool’s paradise,” the minister said at a programme at Tejgaon Women's College in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Mentioning the diesel price hike, he said load shedding has become mandatory in the country.
“Efforts are underway to resolve this issue. I think we will be back to the normal situation by December this year,” he assured.
