A Dhaka court has sent Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, former BNP state minister for civil aviation, to jail in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Rejecting a bail plea, Judge ASM Ruhul Imran of Special Judge's Court-2 of Dhaka passed the order on Sunday.

The ACC filed the case against former state minister Mir Nasir Uddin and his son Mir Helal Uddin with Gulshan Police Station on March 6, 2007, over allegedly amassing illegal wealth and concealing information.

On July 4, 2007, the Special Judge's Court sentenced Nasir to 13 years’ imprisonment and his son Helal to three years’ one.
