Awami League Central Executive Committee member and former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and Awami League leader Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran died from coronavirus early today (Monday).
He was undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka where he died at 2:30 am, confirmed Awami League’s Organising Secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel.
On June 5, Kamran tested positive. He got admitted to a hospital the next day. He was shifted to CMH on June 7 after his condition deteriorated.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran.
In a condolence message, she said Kamran will remain alive in the heart of mass people through his works.
The Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
