A former member of the United People's Democratic Front was abducted from his father-in-law's house and killed in Noapara village of Dighinala upazila in Khagrachhari on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Amar Jibon Chakma, 40, son of Suresh Chandra Chakma of Hazachora Joint bridge area. However, he stayed at his father-in-law's house in Noapara village.
Piar Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dighinala police station said the body was rescued and brought to the police station. The legal procedure is being taken in this regard.
Vijay Chakma, father-in-law of the deceased, said Amar was asleep after dinner. Some people woke him up and took him to Boradom east Khamarpara and hacked him to death.
On information, the police recovered the body around 9:30am Saturday.
Amar Chakma was an active member of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) Prasit Khisa team but he was inactive for last two years. He used to run his family by selling vegetables.
