Four people, including a mother and daughter, were crushed under the wheels of a train in Tangail's Kalihati in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident took place in Miranjani area of Salla Union, on the east side of Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway at around 5:30am.
The deceased were identified as Basanti, 60, Aarti Rani Das, 55, Shanti Rani, 45 and her daughter Shilpi Rani 30.
Bangabandhu Setu East Police Station Sub Inspector (SI) Nazmul said the four women died on the spot around 5:30am when the Dhaka-bound Ekota Express leaving from Dinajpur hit them while they were walking towards home along the rail tracks.
On information, police recovered the bodies, he added.
