At least four people, including an upazila chairman, have been killed in a road accident in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj.
The name of the UP chairman is Nazmul Islam(Kajol), he is the chairman of Bagharoara upazila of Jessore.
Name of the other deceased who have been identified so far is Nowrin Akhter.
The identities of the other two deceased are not confirmed so far.
A woman named Akhi Akhter was also critically injured in the accident and she is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Noapara of the upazila on Monday afternoon when a truck hit a private car.
Officer-in-charge of Shayestaganj Highway police outpost Shafikul Islam Shafik confirmed the news to The Business Post.
“Two passengers died on the spot and the other two died while undergoing treatment at the Madhabpur Health Complex,” he said.
