Fresh genocide charges brought against Hasina, 52 others

Another complaint was filed on Thursday with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 52 others, including journalists, on the charges of crimes against humanity and genocide.

Md Golam Razzak, father of Nasib Hasan Riyan, 17, who was gunned down while bringing out a procession in support of the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5 in front of Alliance Hospital in Shyamoli area in the capital, filed the complaint through his lawyer Gazi MH Tamim with the ICT investigation agency on Thursday, reports BSS.

The complainant brought charges under sections 3 (2), 4 (1), and 4(2) of the International Crimes Tribunal Act of 1973, against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan, Anisul Huq, Hasan Mahmud, Hasanul Huq Inu, and Zunayed Ahmed Palak, among others.

Journalists Naimul Islam Khan, Iqbal Subhan Chowdhury, Farida Yasmin, Shyamol Dutta, Mozammel Babu, Nabanita Chowdhury, Subhash Singha Roy, Ahmed Zobayer, Tushar Abdullah, Saiful Alam, Naim Nizam, Abed Khan, Probhash Amin, Farzana Rupa, Shakil Ahmed, Mithila Farzana, Zayedul Hasan Pintu, Monjurul Islam, Ashish Soikat, Manosh Ghosh, Pranab Saha, Masuda Bhatti, Munni Saha, ZI Mamun, Swadesh Roy, Soma Islam, Shyamol Sarker, Ajay Das and Ashraful Alam Khokon were also accused in the complaint.
