Rapid Action Battalion has detained a fugitive convict, who remained absconding for 29 years after a sensational murder in Rangpur.
A team of RAB-4 apprehended Abul Kalam Azad at Paikpara in the capital’s Mirpur area on Sunday night, said ASP Md Imran Khan of RAB’s legal and media wing.
Azad was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Ibrahim in 1992.
Details of the arrest will be disclosed at a press conference at RAB media centre in the city on Monday afternoon.
