Gallantry awards of four Bangabandhu killers revoked

The government has revoked the gallantry titles of four killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday.

The self-confessed killers are – Shariful Haque Dalim, SHBM Noor Chowdhury, Rashed Chowdhury, and Moslem Uddin Khan.

Of them, Bir Uttam title was conferred on Dalim, Bir Bikram on Nur, Bir Pratik on Rashed and Moslem.

All of them were stripped of the awards on February 9 this year by Jatiya Muktijoddha Council.

The High Court on December 15, 2020 suspended the gallantry awards of the four fugitive killers.

On August 15, 1975, Bangabandhu and most of his family members were assassinated by a cabal of military men.
