Gas supply has been disrupted in Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Hazaribagh and other adjacent areas of Dhaka since last night as a gas pipeline was damaged in Savar's Amin Bazar area during construction work.
Sources at Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd said its 16-inch feeder line at the Amin Bazar area was damaged around 9:00pm on Tuesday during the construction work of Salehpur bridge over the Turag River.
The damage caused a gas leakage, which resulted in the supply disruption.
Titas is trying alternative ways and conducting essential repairs to keep the gas supply normal, authorities said, adding that gas supply hopefully will become normal by 6:00pm on Tuesday.
