The holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated next Saturday or Sunday depending on the sighting of the moon.
However, the gas supply will remain suspended for three days in several areas of Dhaka and Narayanganj from Sunday midnight due to urgent renovation work on the gas pipeline, Titas Gas authorities informed through a circular on Wednesday.
The circular said gas supply will remain suspended for a total of 72 hours starting from 12am on April 23 to 12 am on April 26 due to emergency maintenance work on gas transmission pipelines in the Japanese Economic Zone (Araihazar), Rupganj, and Narayanganj areas.
The gas supply will remain suspended in Lakshmankhola, Rupsi, Rupganj, Bhulta, Kanchan, Bhatpara, Murapara, Barpa, Tarabo, and Perabo areas for all categories of customers and also in City Economic Zone, Meghna Energy, Summit Power REB (Madhabdi) and City Sugar Industries.
Moreover, the gas pressure may remain low in the southern part of Dhaka city including Araihajar, Madhavadi, Panchdona, Narayanganj, Fatulla, Shyampur, Kadmatoli, Keraniganj, and Jinjira areas.
Titas Gas authorities have expressed regret to the customers for the disruption in gas supply.
