A fire that broke out at Gausul Azam Super Market, located in the capital’s Nilkhet area has been brought under control.
“The fire broke out at around 4:35pm and doused at 5:32pm with the effort of two firefighter units,” said Fire Service control room Duty Officer Ershad Hossain.
“No casualty was reported in the incident,” he said.
“We cannot say at this time what caused the fire, or the amount of damage in the market,” Ershad added.
Earlier on Thursday, a fire at Green Cozy Cottage, located in the city’s Baily Road, claimed the lives of at least 46 people, while 20 victims remain hospitalised. The injured victims are in critical condition.
