A fire gutted a readymade garments factory in Gazipur’s Kaliakoir on Friday.
The fire was reported at Divine Fabrics’ two-storey building in front of the Palli Bidyut Office at around 4:00pm.
Eight units from a local fire station responded to the scene and doused the blaze at around 6:30pm.
Kashimpur DBL Fire Service Warehouse Inspector Mirajul Islam said that the source of fire could not be ascertained yet.
Workers were not inside as the factory was closed, he said.
There were no incidents of casualties at the time of writing this report. The extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately by the officials concerned.
