The fire at Ghorashal fertilizer factory in Palash upazila of Narsingdi came under control after five hours of efforts.
No casualties were reported in the blaze. However, goods worth around Tk 3 crore used in the construction of the building have been burnt.
The fire broke out at around 12 noon on Friday. Upon receiving the news, two units of Palash and four units of Narsingdi Fire Service reached the spot and tried for about five hours to bring the fire under control and managed to do so at around 5 pm.
Earlier, the fire broke out when a Titas gas pipeline leaked while piling in an ammonia factory building under construction at the factory. Narsingdi Fire Service Unit Deputy Director Nurul Islam confirmed the matter.
