Customs Intelligence officials on Saturday seized 56 gold bars worth around Tk 4.58 crore at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.
Md Saifur Rahman, joint director of customs at Chattogram Airport, said they carried out a search operation as soon as the Biman flight (BG-148) landed from Dubai in the morning, acting on a tip-off.
“Some 56 gold bars weighing 6.5kg, a market value worth of Tk 4.58cr, were recovered from under a passenger seat. However, no one was arrested in this connection yet," he said.
