No government employees will be allowed to talk to the mass media or publish any comment, opinion and article online without permission from respective department heads.

The Ministry of Public Administration sent a letter to the senior secretaries and secretaries of all the ministries in this regard, asking them to implement the order.

In the letter issued Tuesday, the ministry cited Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979 which includes the same rules to be followed by government employees.

The government employees aren’t allowed to participate in any program of radio/television except the ones based on his/her respective field of ‘real duty’, the letter said.

The secretaries have been asked to provide necessary instructions to the staffs of all subordinate departments and divisions in this regard.
