The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has formed a committee to determine the number of beneficiaries of government food aid during countrywide shutdown and the amount of relief required.
An order has been issued on Monday (April 19th) with the officials of the Ministry of Disaster Management and the Directorate of Disaster Management in this regard.
Additional Secretary of the ministry, Akram Hossain, has been made the convener of the 11-member committee.
The committee will report on the list of beneficiaries received from all the departments across the country and the amount of food aid required to provide relief from April to June.
After the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated Tk.47.35cr and distributed 94,667 ton rice in eight phases across the country.
