Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Md Alamgir said the government is forming a commission to update the laws of local government bodies.
He said this while talking to reporters about the draft ‘Local Government Election Act-2020’ after a meeting of the commission on Monday.
“We have talked to the secretary of the local government ministry and they will also form a commission to update their laws. If that commission is formed, then maybe the issues of this amendment will also be discussed in that commission. There will be proposals for necessary amendments,” said the EC secretary.
