As part of intensifying nationwide inoculation drive, the government has decided to lower the minimum age for five years as now the people aged 30 years and above are allowed to receive Covid-19 vaccines.

"In early July, we have reduced age limit to 35 years from 40 and today (Monday) we have set minimum age 30 years to receive coronavirus vaccine," Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam told BSS.

People aged 55 and above are only eligible for taking vaccines but the decision has been revised a day after launching of the countrywide Covid-19 vaccination campaign on February 8 this year, the DGHS sources said.
