Govt set fuel limits for govt officials

The government has set monthly fuel limits for all government officials to cut fuel consumption.

In a circular issued on Wednesday, the finance ministry said that government officials can spend a maximum of 140 litres of petrol or octane and 210 cubic meters of gas per month.

Earlier on Friday, the government increased the prices of fuel oils in the country amid the volatility in their prices on the global market.

At the consumers’ level, the retail prices of diesel and kerosene within 40km of fuel depots will be Tk 114 per litre, while octane Tk 135 a litre, and petrol Tk 130 per litre.

The fresh hike in the prices came into effect on Saturday, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said in a press release issued on Friday night.
