Govt staffers ordered back to workstations

The government has ordered all its employees to return to offices, ending an option for 75 percent of staffers to work from home amid the pandemic.

The government officials will now have to go back to pre-coronavirus schedule and work from 9am to 5pm at their designated work stations.

Shaikh Yusuf Harun, secretary of the ministry of public administration confirmed the news to The Business Post.

However, the elderly and sick employees along with expectant mothers will still be under the attendance restrictions.

Many ministries have verbally informed their officials and employees about the matter. Some have already started working at full capacity, while others are preparing to bring all its employees back to work.
