Law minister Anisul Huq on Tuesday said that the government has published gazette notification on the reformed quota system, according to the court rule.

He said the government has accepted all demands. “Quota has been reformed, a judicial investigation committee has been formed to investigate the violence during protests, the government will take care of the treatment of injured students, cases against students will be withdrawn based on information, and steps will be taken to normalise situation at educational institutions.”

Regarding the rest of the demands of the students, the law minister said, “The government has accepted all their demands. I urge them to return to their respective institutions,” reports UNB.

“Some quarters with vested interest tried to change the (quota reform) movement’s track; BNP-Jamaat took advantage of the situation. The government still accepted the students’ demands,” he said.

If any group still tries to deteriorate the law and order situation, the government will take highest measures accordingly, the minister added.

The sooner the situation gets better, curfew will be withdrawn, the law minister said.

He also hoped that all educational institutions will open soon.
