Grameenphone has filed a writ petition with the High Court (HC) seeking a stay on the two restrictions imposed by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BRTC).
Barrister Mostafijur Rahman Khan, lawyer for the telecom operator company, confirmed the matter to the Business Post on Monday.
The hearing will be held on this writ this week with the bench of Justice Enayetur Rahim in a videoconference.
"BTRC chairman and related officials have been made respondents to the writ," said Mostafijur Rahman.
Earlier, BTRC on June 21 imposed two new restrictions on Grameenphone.
Those include 1. to announce any new packages or offers, Grameenphone will need to take prior approval from BTRC, and 2. the telecom regulator allowed subscribers to leave Grameenphone after 60 days of switching operator under the mobile number portability (MNP) facility, although other telecom operators avail a 90-day facility.
