A grounded Boeing 737 aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines returned to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Malaysia on Wednesday morning after repairs.

A Biman officer said it was now ready to fly again.

The aircraft [flight BG 086] departed from Dhaka with 126 passengers at 11:30pm (local time) on Monday and reached Kuala Lumpur at 5:30am (local time) on Tuesday.

After landing, pilot Captain Shakhawat Hossain saw a crack on the windshield. The aircraft was then grounded for repairs, and the matter was reported to the Biman authorities in Dhaka.

A Biman special flight was sent to Kuala Lumpur with engineers and the necessary equipment to change the windshield.

Biman officials said 162 passengers were supposed to depart for Dhaka from Kuala Lumpur on the grounded aircraft on Tuesday morning.

However, Biman was forced to cancel the flight. The stranded passengers returned to Dhaka on the special flight at 10:21pm on Tuesday.
