Groupe Eram in collaboration with Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence (BFSCD) has handed over certificates to seven factories for their efforts and measures to ensure fire safety.
The certificate distribution ceremony was held at BFSCD Headquarter in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The event’s chief guest, BFSCD Director (Operation & Maintenance) Lt Col Zillur Rahman, addressed the requirements of fire safety regulations and appreciated the effort from factories in response to the advises from inspection officers.
He also cited examples of other countries on which Bangladesh can work to improve.
BFSCD Senior Station Officer Shaidul Alam Chowdhury, who also coordinated the event, appreciated the inspection officers for their performances.
Groupe Eram Social & Environmental Compliance Manager Nicolas Lanvoc, Bangladesh Sustainability Manager Mozammel Hoque and Sustainability Officer Sanjay K Sarkar were also present at the programme with their other colleagues.
Emphasizing on the significances of maintaining fire safety, Nicolas Lanvoc requested factories to keep up with their level of achievements.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association Director Neela Hosne Ara, also chairman of Crony Group, poetized workers safety and women empowerment during her speech. She also expressed gratitude to Groupe Eram and BFSCD for the unique initiative and continuous support.
In the event, Crony Group received two certificates. Crony Group Technical Director Farid Ibnea Latif and Tex Alliance SA Country Manager Navneet Paul Singh received the certificates for the two factories -- Abanti Colour Tex Ltd and Crony Apparels Ltd.
Crony Group was also represented by Compliance AGM Md Janea Alam while Tex Alliance SA by Compliance Manager Md Mahfuz Ul Bashar.
Afrah Fashion Ltd, Tex Tech Company Ltd, FB Footwear Ltd, Ratul Fabrics Ltd, Knit Radix Ltd also received the certificates.
