Repairs are underway after landlines in Gulshan and Uttara exchanges got disconnected due to cut underground fibre optic cables in Mohakhali.

The Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) made the disclosure in a press release on Monday. On Sunday morning, telephones under the Gulshan and Uttara BTCL exchanges got disconnected due to the issue, according to the release.

BTCL authorities pointed out that although some landline phones regained functionality by Monday, the connection of Uttara, Nikunja, Gulshan 1 and 2, Banani, Badda, Tejgaon and Mohakhali areas has not been fully restored as yet.

The BTCL is currently working on it, and they hope that landline services will be restored soon. BTCL authorities have sincerely apologised for the temporary inconvenience suffered by customers, the release added.
