Handbook launched to establish model enterprise clinics

Model enterprise clinics are being launched with an aim to follow specific guidelines in the light of the legal obligation of healthcare services for the workers in the garment factories of the country.

Through this initiative, sustainability guideline, checklist and pictorial handbook for the workers working in the factories will be provided.

Initially, this system is being introduced on a pilot basis in 30 RMG factories, owned by the members of BGMEA and BKMEA.

The programme was inaugurated at a hotel in the capital on Saturday. International Labor Organization (ILO) is implementing this initiative through Certificate in Medical Education (CMED).

Through this initiative, health services like treatment of common illness and workplace injury, medicine and consumables will be provided to workers as per Bangladesh Labour Act, apart from health products at subsidised prices, updated list of expiring medicine consumables, equipment and replacement, eye and hearing screening for workers.
