The High Court has granted bail to social movement organizer Didarul Islam Bhuiyan, a member of 'Rastra Chinta Songothon', in a case filed against him under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
The HC bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Monday after hearing a bail petition for him.
Advocate Hasnat Kaium, Dr Qazi Zahed Iqbal and Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua stood for the bail petition.
Earlier on May 07, 2020, a metropolitan magistrate court denied bail to Didarul Islam and sent him to jail a day after he was shown arrested in a case filed under the DSA.
Didarul Islam, blogger Asif Mahmud, cartoonists Ahmed Kabir Kishore and Mostaque Ahmed are among the accused in the case.
According to the case statement, he attempted to destabilise the country by posting false and fake information against the government on a Facebook page 'I am Bangladeshi'.
