The High Court (HC) on Tuesday suspended the freedom fighter titles of four absconding killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman killers including Shariful Haque Dalim, Risaldar Moslemuddin, M Rashed Chowdhury and Noor Chowdhury.
The HC bench also issued a rule asking why the government’s inactivity in cancelling their freedom fighter titles should not be declared illegal.
An HC bench comprising Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Khairul Alam passed the order after hearing a writ petition on Tuesday.
Writ petitioner Advocate Subir Nandi Das confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday.
Earlier today, Advocate Abdul Qayyum Khan appeared before the court on behalf of Subir Nandi Das who filed the writ petition on December 2.
Liberation War Affairs secretary, Cabinet Secretary and others were made respondent in the writ petition.
