The High Court on Tuesday upheld a 10-year prison term of Awami League lawmaker Haji Mohammad Selim in a corruption case.
The court also fined him 10 lakh taka. He will have to serve another year in jail for non-payment of the amount.
The High Court bench of Justice Justice Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Huq issued the order Tuesday.
The HC has given Haji Selim one month to surrender before the court.
In 2007, the anti-corruption body filed a case against Selim, a member of parliament (MP) of the Dhaka-7 constituency, on charges of amassing wealth illegally.
On April 27, 2008, a Dhaka court sentenced him to 13 years' imprisonment and fined him 20 lakh taka in that connection. However, Selim appealed to the High Court against the judgment.
In 2011, the court cancelled Selim's sentence, but the ACC later appealed against the verdict.
