Authorities instructed all the doctors, health sector officials and employees in Dhaka district to refrain from providing any kind of information regarding health services or patients' records to the media during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This decision was taken by authorities over a video meeting, basing on certain incidents, said a notification on Thursday signed by Dr Abu Hossain Md Moinul Ahsan, civil surgeon of Dhaka district.
Referring to it as the disclosure of private information and privacy intervention of the patients, the notification also instructed the media personnel not to capture any photos, footage or interviews regarding health services or activities.
The restriction was applicable for both electronic and print media.
For any information, the media personnel were requested to directly contact the civil surgeon.
