A Dhaka court has fixed October 6 for hearing on 11 cases against Former Bangladeshi prime minister and opposition leader Khaleda Zia over charges of sedition and inciting violence.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge KM Imrul Kayes fixed the date on Monday.
All the 11 cases were filed with Darussalam and Jatrabari police stations during the non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance in January, February and March in 2015.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is currently facing 34 cases filed with different courts and police stations across the country.
Earlier on March 25, 2020, the government released the BNP chairperson, suspending her sentence for six months on humanitarian grounds considering her age as she was serving prison sentences in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case and the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
