A Dhaka court has denied bail to Helena Jahangir, a businesswoman who was recently sacked from an Awami League subcommittee, in a fraud case filed with the Pallabi police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim passed the order after a hearing on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, another court granted bail to the accused in a case filed under the Telecommunication Act.
Rapid Action Battalion on July 29 detained Helena Jahangir from her Gulshan residence following a raid.
During the raid, RAB seized foreign liquors, illegal walkie-talkie sets, sharp weapons, foreign currencies, casino equipment and a deer hide from her residence.
She is also facing charges under the Digital Security Act and the Special Powers Act.
