The Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during Ramadan, so this holy month should get the utmost importance, said Allama Sheikh Syed Afif Uddin Al-Jilani Al-Baghdadi.

This descendant of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani, Sajjadanshin and Boro Pir of Baghdad Sharif Darbar, explained many reasons behind the importance of Ramadan and the Holy Quran, while addressing a discussion as the chief guest last Monday night.

The Mahfil Entezamiya Committee organised this discussion on the occasion of 40th Annual Ursh of Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Abdus Salam Ichapuri (RA), held at the Nanupur Astana-e-Ichapuri Darbar Sharif in  Chattogram’s Fatikchhari Upazila.

PHP Family Chairman and Mahfil Entezamiya Committee President Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman presided over the programme, while Shah Sufi Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al Hasani Al Maizbhandari of Anjumane Rahmania Moiniya Maizbhandar Darbar attended as main speaker.

While describing the importance of the holy month of Ramadan, Syed Afif Uddin Al-Jilani said, “Along with the revelation of the Quran on Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), the message was announced in Ramadan.

“This recitation of the message up to 'La Ilaha Illahu Muhammadur Rasullah' was also revealed in the month of Ramadan. The Quran Sharif was revealed on the land of Makkah in Jabale Noor. Which is Ummul Kitab, and that is why Makkah is called Ummul Qura.”

He continued, “Hazrat Jibraeel (AS) is called the sardar of angels. He became the leader of all the angels because of being closer to Sarasul. The prophet became Syedul Morsalin after the revelation of the Quran to him.

“If the Quran is revealed to our hearts, how robust will our respect be? Therefore, the Quran should be loved much more in Ramadan. From here we can understand how great our respect will be if we love the Quran.”

Terming Chattogram as Madinatul Awliya, Syed Afif Uddin Al-Jilani said, “I am grateful to be able to visit the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif and attend the Ursh Mobarak of Abdus Salam Ichapuri (RA). I thank him for this opportunity.

“May Allah accept everyone in this Ramadan. Protect all Muslims of the world. You are very lucky, because you were born in the city of Allah’s Olis, and can be near them.”

Quoting from the Holy Quran, Syed Afif Uddin Jilani said, “The people remember Allah's Maqbool Banda, the Kamel Olis, when they are among the living, and after they have passed away.

“Abdus Salam Ichapuri is one such Kamel Oli. This is a great blessing for you. The Olis of Allah were Sadiqin (truthful in all things), and they kept themselves in prayer, fasting, and zikr of the Rasul. If we continue the zikr of Allah, one day Allah will make us Sadiqin too.”

Providing an example, he pointed out, “The greatest Sadiqin is Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Because of his zikr and love, the Sahabah gained status. Allah will increase our status if we are with the Olis.

“So the Sadiqin need to be in Zikr. Many of us could not sit in the majlis of Allah's Olis. But if we listen to their advice, have a loving relationship and companionship, we will benefit in the world and the hereafter because of that love.”

Quoting Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA), he said, "If you ever see Olis of Allah, then assume that you have seen those people who have witnessed Allah in their hearts. Abdul Quader Jilani used to pray, Allah, make us among those who have seen you with the eyes of the heart in this world and will see you with the eyes of the forehead in the hereafter.”

Commenting that Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat means love, Afif Uddin said, “We do not know anything except love, and I do not even want to know. About love, Allama Jalaluddin Rumi said many people have invented their own way of worship, but I made the road of love and Ishq.”

Main speaker Shah Sufi Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al Hasani said, “A descendant of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani’s (RA) has visited the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif, making the bridge of Qadria Tarika stronger.

“Together, we will work for Islam and  Qadria Tarika  all over the world. Muslims in Palestine are being persecuted. They are not able to have sehri and iftar. May they get the strength to deal with the persecution of Jews and Nasaras.”

Among others, Afif Uddin Al Jilani’s Shahzada Sheikh Syed Abdur Rahman Al Jilani Al Baghdadi, Abdus Salam Ichapuri’s Awlad Shahzada Syed Safiul Azam Syed Ashrafuzzaman, Syed Amanullah Ahsan, Syed Ehsanul Karim, Syed Faizul Azim and Syed Moshiur Rahman were present at the discussion.
