According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, around 260 unions of 40 upazilas of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions have been affected by the sudden floods caused by inflow from India and continuous torrential downpour.
Nearly 3.6 million people are marooned, and at least 13 people have been reported killed.
However, it is not yet known how many people are missing. Hundreds of thousands of people's homes and crops have been submerged.
