Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has appointed Md Zakir Hossain as its new secretary and chief executive officer (CEO).
Prior to joining ICSB, Zakir was the additional secretary of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), said a press release on Wednesday
He is an accomplished, creative results oriented and decisive top-level bureaucrat possessing multifaceted 34 years of service experience in government process, business improvement, power and energy, financial management, health related initiatives and a proven ability to re-energize and restructure organizations, develop strategies.

Zakir, a member of Bangladesh Civil Service 1984 batch, is also adept at forging relationships with key government, partners, stakeholders and clients.
In his long and illustrious career, he has also served as additional secretary of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, joint secretary, Financial Management and Audit Wing, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, component coordinator/joint secretary, Deepening MTBF and Strengthening Financial Accountability (DMTBF) Project, Ministry of Finance, Deputy Secretary of Economic Relations Division (ERD).
Zakir also worked in various pre audit and post audit offices.
Apart from training in various training institutes in Bangladesh, he also received various training including Improving The Quality of Health Services, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University, Boston, USA (2013), Health Policy Development, National Institute of Public Health, Tokyo, (2013), Managing At The Top-2 (MATT) UK Programme, University of Wolverhampton, Telford (2012), Post graduate diploma on Financial Management from Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Netherlands (2008), etc.
