Emphasising the importance of incorporating digital content in the national education curriculum, Jabbar called upon the IT professionals to come forward in imparting ICT-based education to students.

Jabbar made the call while speaking at a prize distribution ceremony among the winners of an essay competition organised by “Science Technology and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Foundation” at a city hotel on Sunday night, said a press release.

BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Satya Prasad Majumder presided over the function while vice-chancellors from different public and private universities, former vice-chancellors, researchers and teachers of various public and private universities spoke on the occasion.

At the event, the BUET vice-chancellor stressed the need for using technology as a tool for building Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla.
Later, Jabbar announced the names of the winners of the competition and distributed prizes among the winners.

The minister also inaugurated the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh's “Digital Counting Professional Development” platform in Dhaka.
