IF calls for avoiding inciting speech in mosque’s Khutbah

The Islamic Foundation on Tuesday called for avoiding any kind of inciting speech while delivering “Khutbah” at mosques in the country.

In order to implement the Bishwa Ijtema smoothly and successfully, inciting statements should be avoided while delivering Khutbah on loudspeakers of the mosque before and after the Jummah prayers and waqtia-prayers, said a press release.

At the same time, the Islamic Foundation advised all concerned to deliver awareness speeches for devotees and people.

Besides, respected imams, Khatibs, field-level officials, teachers, workers and management committees of all mosques of the Islamic Foundation have been requested to take necessary measures to deliver awareness speeches in this regard on regular basis.

The first phase of Biswa Ijtema will begin on January 13 and will end on January 15, at Tongi on the outskirts of the capital.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner of Gazipur Mollah Nazrul Islam told BSS last month that over 7,000 members of the law enforcement agencies will be deployed during the Biswa Ijtema to ensure proper security.

The second phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin on January 20.

Since 1967, the Bishwa Ijtema takes place every year on the bank of river Turag in Tongi.
