While a large chunk of the capital dwellers has already left for observing the Eid-ul-Fitr at their respective hometowns, villages, or holiday spots, the city was nevertheless left with a considerable number of people who were out and about on Wednesday in search of entertainment.
Popular venues where people gathered were the National Zoo in Mirpur and Hatijheel area.
The zoo has always been a favourite of the populace, especially the children.
Children wearing colourful outfits and wide smiles were seen enjoying the zoo’s attractions.
As the number of open spaces keeps dwindling across the city, Hatirjheel has quickly become a hit among those who want to enjoy some fresh air.
The area was bustling with a crowd on Wednesday, the day after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Another old favourite is the Suhrawardy Uddyan, where people were seen roaming with their family members and enjoying the fresh air. Vendors selling various wares were also in abundance at the Uddyan.
Light traffic was observed at some points in the city as quite a lot of people decided to visit their loved ones and sought enjoyment. The streets at Rampura and Malibagh area were seen to be especially lively.
