In Pictures: Nation observes Shab-e-Barat

Shab-e-Barat is considered to be one of the major celebrations for the Muslim community around the world.

The night is also known as the night of fortune and forgiveness.

The festival is observed on the 14th or 15th day of Sha'ban in the eighth month of the Islamic calendar.

The festivities begin in the evening. For observing Shab-e-Barat people stay awake whole night and offer prayer, some of them keep fast and read from Holy Quran till the dawn of the next day.
