The District Road Transport Workers Union has called an indefinite transport strike to demand 9 points including ambulance parking facilities at Sadar Hospital in Habiganj.

The organization held an emergency meeting on Saturday night and called for a transport strike in the entire district.

President of Habiganj District transport Workers' Union Sajib Ali said, “At least 40 private ambulances are carrying patients to and from Habiganj Sadar Hospital. Recently, the authorities have banned ambulance parking on the hospital premises. In protest, the ambulance driver-owner association has been holding a strike by stopping emergency services for a week”.

Sajib also said, “In solidarity with them, the District Road Transport Workers' Union held an emergency meeting on Saturday night and called for a transport strike in the entire district. The strike will continue until the demand is met”.
