Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at Bangabandhu's portrait installed at Dhanmondi Road No 32 in the capital.

Sheikh Rehana, the younger daughter of Bangabandhu, received the Indian president on his arrival at the Bangabandhu Museum this afternoon.

After placing wreaths, Sheikh Rehana took Ram Nath Kovind to different parts of Bangabandhu Museum containing various belongings and portraits of Bangabandhu and his family members.

He visited the stairs where Bangabandhu's body was found after the assassinators shot him on the fateful night of August 15, 1975 and the bedroom of Bangabandhu.

Later, the Indian president wrote his comments in the visitors' book in Hindi.
