Indian warship with oxygen plants arrives at Chittagong port

Indian warship INS Savitri has arrived at Chittagong port with two complete oxygen plants and various types of medical equipment for Bangladesh.

The ship anchored at jetty no. 5 of the port from Visakhapatnam port of India at around 9:30am on Thursday.

The warship brought two oxygen plants as a goodwill gift from the government of India to help Bangladesh during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to naval sources, INS Savitri has brought a complete oxygen plant for the Bangladesh Navy and another one for Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Commander N Ravi Singh, INS Savitri warship captain, handed over the oxygen plants at the Chittagong Naval Jetty at 10:00am.

M Mahabubur Rahman, sergeant commander of Patenga post (Chittagong Navy), received an oxygen plant on behalf of the Bangladesh Navy and Dr M Shahriar Kabir, Chattogram divisional health director, received the other on behalf of the DMCH.
